People Used To Dream About The Future

The future and the past meld together seamlessly in the time-travel epic that Phoenix Keating envisioned while creating his Spring 2014 collection.  Imaging an android from the future traveling back in time to the 1920s, and falling in love with a human, Keating took futuristic silver materials, and metal rivets inspired by the industrial rivets of an airplane, and applied them to the classic femme attire of Josephine Baker's era.  The love story yields fantastical, yet entirely wearable pieces, like a grey gingham pencil skirt that's been dipped in bleach, or a floor length evening gown rendered in transparent blue organza.  Forward thinking design ideas, balanced with timelessly appealing tailoring and silhouettes.
