Mother's Daughter

Aztec Batwing Sweater $55

I received an email last week from Hayden Shiebler, announcing the recent opening of her San Francisco-based online vintage shop, Mother's Daughter. Having worked in vintage for four years, Shiebler has acquired a sharp eye, and has gathered a diverse collection of covetable clothes from the early 1900's to the 1990's. I love the selection of styles, which suit every taste or mood you might fancy, ranging from an 80's body-con leather halter dress, to a Prairie-style frock that wouldn't look out of place on Big Love, to an oversize polka-dot shirt dress that reminds me of Comme des Garcons. The prices aren't terrible either, with the majority of pieces hovering around the $50 mark. In addition to the vintage clothing selection, Shiebler has plans to add local art, photography, and handmade items, showcasing San Francisco's creative community. Here are some of my favorite pieces from the shop, and I can't wait to see what else will be in the works!

Wilson's Leather halter dress $85

Lilah Gunne Sax prairie dress $58

Leather cape jacket $125

Cherry quilted peplum jacket $48

Polka Dot Shirt Dress $52

i like their eye- it's varied but not overly trendy like a lot of vintage shops these days..
