Superfuture

I was first introduced to Raphael Young's work when I was representing the line of shoes he designed for Kaylee Tankus. Young, who comes from a family of shoemakers, has designed for houses that include YSL, and apparently cobbles each of his shoes himself. While the shoes from the Kaylee Tankus line are pretty sick, Young reserves his most outlandish designs for his own collections, which always involve plenty of physics-defying heel architecture. While Spring 09 looked somewhat like a sexed-up version of LD Tuttle's structural shoes, his super-futuristic Fall 09 collection wouldn't look out of place on the Star Trek Enterprise. He's only released these two pictures, but I can't wait to see the rest!
